Tax Payment and Filing Dates

Tax Bills

Tax bills in the collar counties are generally issued May 1st in the year following the subject tax year. Only one bill is issued, with two payment coupons. The bill reflects the tax levies of the local taxing bodies, as well as the final assessed valuation upon which the tax is based. (See Kane County Treasurer, Will County Treasurer, McHenry County Treasurer, DuPage County Treasurer, and Lake County Treasurer for more information.)

Filing Dates

Each township within a county has a separate deadline for the filing of appeals at the Board of Review, which deadlines are established by the Board of Review. As these dates many times differ from one year to the next for each county and many times for the townships within the county, the Board of Review of the respective county must be contacted to ascertain the filing dates for assessment appeals. (See Kane County Board of Review, Will County Board of Review, McHenry County Board of Review, DuPage County Board of Review, and Lake County Board of Review for more information.)
