Steven has been concentrating his practice with the firm for more than 25 years in local real estate taxation. He regularly appears before the Cook County Assessor, Boards of Review, Circuit Court and the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board, as well as the Illinois Department of Revenue for tax exempt properties. Steven has litigated real estate tax matters, including tax refund class action litigation, before the Illinois Appellate Court and Supreme Court.
Steven first practiced as an Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney in its Real Estate Tax Division where he participated in litigation before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois and Vermont Law School, and is a member of the Chicago and Illinois Bar Associations.
Steven’s public service includes the pro bono representation for over 15 years of a severely disabled victim of domestic violence.
